Study sketch for 'Fluid City'

I was commissioned to create three large paintings for a new reception area in the Pinnacle building in the heart of City of leeds, UK.
Painted between December 2012 and February 2013, the tallest piece is 4.2 metres high.

The composition ‘Fluid City’ is a metaphor for a modern City landscape in transition, the paintings show vibrant active elements referencing natural and contemporary architectural forms infused within an artistic interpretation of high speed technology and linkages.

The forms within the piece are looking for connections to each other, trying to form a language for communication.

Charlottes work in progress

'Cybercity' Exhibition March - April 2010, 'Lumen' Exhibition Sept - Nov 2011, Art, Mannart, Uncategorized

Charlotte is creating a series of small wire pieces for a specific project relating to the shore environment.

As a child, born on the Scottish coastline, she explored her environment which consisted of braes, caverns with undiscovered Pictish drawings, and a castle ruin.

Sounds, aromas,  storms and tides, screaming birdsong, led to the generation of pieces which subconsciously connote these early memories which remain fragile and strongly sensorial.
